Super lush moisturizer

From the second you open the package of Doctor Babor Collagen-Peptde booster cream rich you can tell it is a quality product. The smell is light but feels like a spa. The cream itself is thick yet absorbs quickly and it is not at all sticky. It lasts all day and glides right on. My skin felt an instant refresh!

Very hydrating cream

This cream is very plumping and hydrating to the skin. It does immediately help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles with intense hydration. It is a very thick cream, think La Mer or Nivea, so if that isn't your cup of tea, then this might not be for you. It is also very heavily fragranced, which is something else to be aware of. This is a high end version of a peptide cream, so if your skin responds well typically to those types of ingredients, this is the best of the best. The only thing that takes this product down from a five star to a four is the packaging. At this price point, I expected a luxury experience. The jar itself is heavy, but the foil seal it came with was super annoying to take off and led to me wasting a bit of product. Also dipping your fingers in every time to apply is less sanitary than an airless pump or tube, so essentially you're buying this for the ingredients and not the packaging. If packaging doesn't matter to you, then this is an elegant take on a peptide cream that will give you plumper, younger looking skin.

Mixed feelings

I've been using this product for a few weeks now. The cream is a bit thicker but isn't scented at all. I have very dry skin and usually do well with thicker creams, but this product does not absorb into my skin very easily. If I apply this product after a serum it absorbs slightly more. It does leave my skin looking very dewy and hydrated, but I'm not sure if it's actually doing anything for my skin long term. I will continue to use this product and I received this in exchange for my review.

I tested the Doctor Babor Collagen-Peptide Booster Cream Rich and overall, it worked well. My skin felt softer and more hydrated, and I could see some visible improvement in texture after regular use. However, the cream left a greasy finish on my skin that didn't fully absorb, even after some time. Because of that, I found it hard to use during the day, especially under makeup. If you have very dry skin or plan to use it only at night, it could still be a good option. But for me, the greasy look made it less ideal for daily wear.

My Honest Opinion

I was gifted this product by the BzzAgent sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I've been using this Dr Babor Collagen Peptide Booster Cream Rich for a little over two weeks now. There are some things I really like about this cream, and some things I feel are not the best for me. Let's start with the pros: Presentation: this cream comes in a nice, thick glass jar, which is something I love about Prestige/Luxury brands. Holding a glass jar in your hand feels so much nicer than a cheap plastic container. It's all about perception, right? Texture: this is a very dense, thick and heavy cream. When they say, "Rich," they are not kidding! It's got almost a mask-like texture. Scent: there is definitely a light scent, I can't quite explain it. It's not perfume-y, nor is it chemical-like. It's not unpleasant or aggressive, it's just there. I appreciate that it's not heavily scented like some other prestige brands. Usage: as mentioned, this cream is quite rich, so a little goes a long way once you figure out how best to apply it. (I will get to that later, I promise!) Results: Once absorbed, it made my skin very soft and smooth. And that hydration lasts a long time. Cons: As I said, this is an extremely rich, dense cream, and at first, I had difficulty applying it without using too much. If I just scooped a small amount out and tried to apply it, I had difficulty spreading it onto my skin. That was an issue, because it felt too heavy and it never fully absorbed. I played around with some different techniques, and finally, after a few days, I figured it out. I scooped out a small amount and warmed it by rubbing my fingers together, like you would do with an oil, and that made it easier to apply using a smaller amount. I still found this cream to be quite heavy, though - much too heavy for day time use, especially considering that I live in the deep south, where it's hot and humid this time of year (and for much of the year.) It works much better for me as part of my nighttime routine. It is, as mentioned earlier, very mask-like in texture, so that is how it worked best for me - like a mask. I continued to use it twice daily, as instructed, for the full two weeks that I gave it for evaluation purposes. I just tried to use as little as possible during the day, and I eliminated a couple of steps that I normally take for my daytime routine. It does not absorb quickly. I found that I had to wait significantly longer than I normally do before I could move on to applying a primer after using this cream, and there were a few instances of it pilling up. The longer I waited, the less pilling I experienced. Results: while this cream did make my skin feel very soft and smooth, I did not feel like it did any firming at all, nor did I see an improvement in my lines and wrinkles. I admit, two weeks may not be a long enough time for it to effectively reduce those lines and wrinkles and improve the elasticity of my skin, so I plan to continue using it for a full three months, but only at night, and more like a mask. I will reevaluate my results after two more weeks, and then after each consecutive month, to see if this changes with longer use. Overall, I like this product for softening and smoothing my face, neck, and décolletage, but I do not, as yet, feel like it delivered on the firming and improvement of the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Would I recommend this product? I definitely think this cream, as a daytime moisturizer, would be beneficial for someone with incredibly dry skin, and/or someone who lives in a colder climate. I could see me using this as a day cream during the few weeks of "cold" weather that we get where I live, and I do plan on using it again to see how it performs for me during our very short "Winter.") For clarity, I am 62 years old with combination skin. Most people do not believe me when I reveal my age, as I don't have a lot of deep wrinkles. My biggest "problem areas" are my 11s, marionette lines, loss of elasticity, which is most noticeable around my jawline (jowls), my neck (crepey), and my hooded eyes. I know we are all our own worst critics, though, and I am very self-critical when it comes to my aging skin.
