Good product

This is a very good product! It has its learning curve and when I first saw the color that it had it scared me, but It's suitable for every skin color. I apply a little on my eyelids, then, I blend it with a brush, wait for it to dry a little bit and then apply the eyeshadows. They do last longer but I do not see that much difference in mattes compared to shimmer.

Helped with my worst palette!

This product was provided for promotional purposes in exchange for my honest review So I had this eyeshadow palette that shoes no color what so ever no matter how much I added so it was the best thing to try with this product. Product is very easy to apply and I loved the applicator It has a nice smell and the texture is like a cream I applied it on my eyelids gave it a second to set and then applied the eyeshadow and it perfectly helped with showing the colors!! It made the colors apply on top of it easily and the colors popped. I loved this product so much and it will last me a very long time but I would definitely repurchase that It also was very easily removed with my makeup remover. I would use that with mainly bad palettes as this would give them a chance

Wow! I feel like the Sephora Collection makeup products are so slept on! This eyeshadow primer is comparable to pricier ones I have tried from more expensive brands on the market. As a girl who likes to play with eyeshadow, especially a glitter eyeshadow, this eyeshadow primer really holds up all day long! I was definitely surprised by how long my eyeshadow held up after 8 hours during one of the hottest and most humid days I had experienced while wearing this product on my eyelids. The primer is a nude color, so it doesn't clash if you're wearing a bright eyeshadow color, in fact, I think it definitely enhances the color payoff of the eyeshadow. Honestly, this is a great product for the price point. Highly recommend. This review was part of a promotion.

Amazing product

I am absolutely satisfied with the results of this eyes primer, I needed it very much to complete my full makeup. Now I can keep my eye makeup intact for a whole day. Definitely a must have!!

I thought this was a decent eye shadow primer. To be honest I don't normally use primer on my eyelids or even a specific eye shadow primer so this is already a step up for me. I found it had a very strong smell. That was a negative for me. I was not a fan of the smell, it was very chemical scented. I did think it blended very well and did a decent job of helping to help my eye shadow "hold" better. I even tried this with a highlighter as my eyeshadow and that seemed to work well too with the primer as the base. So overall, not the best because I still noticed some creasing in the product as the day went on. But for the price point, it's decent. Just wish the smell was not as strong as it is. Like it!

After testing out this product a few times, I think it’s effective and easy to use. You just swipe some on your eye and pat it in. Then put your eyeshadow on on top. My eyeshadow lasted well through out the day and looked about the same at the end of the day as when I put it on. I did think that this product made my eyes slightly itchy so if you’re someone who is sensitive then I would use this with caution. It wasn’t itchy enough for me to have to stop use but it was noticeable in comparison to my usual eye products that never make my eyes itch.

Good product, but not for me

I wasn't crazy about The Boost + Lock Eyeshadow Primer, but it's only because my needs are different. Here are the cons, then the pros. CONS For me, I enjoy using a concealer all over my lids because it neutralizes the canvas, i.e. my eyelids. I want dense and opaque, because once the shadow is on, you're not going to know there was a thin wall of concealer under it. And the MAIN reason is because at 48, I want any shadows and hollows in my eyes neutralized, and with this product being sheer, it just doesn't do that. This would be the tinted sunscreen version of an eyeshadow primer - sheer, invisible, natural. I want the full coverage version of a shadow primer. Make it opaque and give me coverage. PROS If you want something natural, this is for you. If you have young lids and don't want the naturally occuring shadows and contours of your eye minimized or erased, this is for you. If you don't need a ton of vibrancy from your shadows, this is for you. It blends in sheer and might be helpful to use over brows to help brow pencils or pomades stay on. In fact, I'll probably start using it for that. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest feedback.

Great for the price

I was looking for an affordable, travel-friendly, eye shadow primer and the Sephora Collection Boost+Lock 12-Hour Eye Shadow Primer seemed like a great option. It comes in a compact tube with a soft and slightly fuzzy doe-foot applicator. While convenient, I’m not a huge fan of this packaging as it tends to leave product behind in the tube, which feels wasteful to me. The formula has a lightweight, liquid texture that isn’t quite a mousse so I recommend applying it in thin, even layers. It’s important to let it dry fully between applications. Since I have oily lids, I found that two thin layers with about 15-30 seconds of drying time for each layer gave me the best results. Once set, it created a smooth, velvety finish that really gripped my eye shadow and helped it stay in place all day without creasing or fading. The primer also has a peachy tint, which worked well with my skin tone and helped neutralize any discoloration on my lids. Familiar Texture, Works Nice

I've been looking for more accessible eye primer, since one I like is always sold out. This formula is thin and creamy, similar to a popular "potion" primer that's been around awhile. I feel this formula is thinner though and goes on a bit closer to a liquid than a mousse. But I do prefer the squeeze tube packaging the other brand has - it means you can always check if you get all the product out easily. Plus, with a lot of the Sephora brand products coming out in black and white tubes, this looks really similar to my brow gel from them! Easy to grab the wrong one. For wear time, I think it is important for me with oily lids to apply a thin coat all over and let it dry. It goes from a bit of a slippery gel or cream to a dry, matte texture to the touch and that's how I feel comfortable adding shadow on top. It's worked well with all the formula's I've tried so far. The only kind I haven't tried yet (since it hasn't come up) is a very emollient shimmer, which can crease and wear off on me because I have hooded eyes and oily lids at times. I don't know how this holds up to that, but standard shimmers and duochromes have stayed on through a night dancing like they should. Gifted by Sephora Collection for review
