Ok so I’ve had this about 3 weeks and wanted to really test it out before I made my review. I can honestly say that I am obsessed with how it makes my hair look it really is stunning 😍 and the waves LAST like really last. The waver does take some getting used too it is very large and can be difficult to navigate round your hair but once you get used to it it’s amazing and you can curl your hair very easily and quickly. The waver is heavy but I would say that this is due to its size but also the quality of workmanship of the waver it is very well made and good quality. When you think of GHD you think of luxury and high quality which this most definitely is. I highly recommend this product it’s been a game changer for me.

Quick, Easy, and Gorgeous Waves Every Time

I absolutely love the GHD Wave Triple Barrel Hair Waver! It’s incredibly easy to use, even for someone like me who has struggled in the past with similar styling tools. As a left-hander, I often find it awkward figuring out how to hold and position hair tools comfortably, but this one feels really natural in my hands. The barrels heat up quickly and glide through my hair without tugging, leaving me with effortless, beachy waves that actually last. The design makes it simple to create an even look without having to spend ages sectioning and redoing bits. It’s definitely made styling my hair much quicker and less stressful.

Great for long hair!

The GHD Wave Triple Barrel Hair Waver has several standout features. It heats up incredibly fast, so it's ready to use within moments. The triple barrels are excellent for creating beautiful, defined waves, and the long cable makes styling easy without needing to stay close to a power socket. I had tried a similar tool before—with help—so I was excited to style my hair independently once this arrived. Although it's quite a large piece of equipment, I didn’t find it heavy or cumbersome. Given the three barrels, its size is expected and doesn’t detract from usability. One downside is that it doesn’t come with a heat mat. Despite the built-in safety stand, I felt uneasy placing it directly on my worktop, so I used my own. Including a heat mat would be a thoughtful addition. My hair is shorter than when I last used a waver, but still long enough to create some lovely waves. I loved the results, although I struggled to achieve waves all over due to concerns about burning my neck. I believe this is more of an issue with shorter hair, and with practice (and help), I’m confident this tool will become a go-to for special occasions.

Brilliant item

I just love this curler, fantastic curls that last all day and into the next day, it’s a bit big and takes time to get used to and it gets very hot but once your used to it the results are great, so happy with it

FROM FRIZZ TO LOVELY BEACHY WAVES

As someone who isn’t an expert with traditional curling tongs, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this tool is to use. I’ve always struggled to get consistent results with classic curlers, especially with my naturally frizzy hair, but this waver made the process feel much more manageable. It gave me loose beachy waves and left my frizzy hair smooth and styled in not too much time. It’s a bit heavy and better to wear gloves to avoid burning your fingers but I love the look and how fast it works.

Effortless beach waves

⸻ I have thick, shoulder-length hair and was really impressed with how well this waver worked for me. It created that effortless “beach curl” look that I’ve struggled to achieve in the past with a normal straightener. The waves came out soft, even, and natural-looking without taking too much time or effort. On my hair length, the style looked lovely and held up well throughout the day, but I think on longer hair the effect would be even more eye-catching, giving that glamorous, flowing wave that’s perfect for holidays, nights out, or even just an everyday textured style. One thing I appreciated was how easy it was to get the hang of. Sometimes styling tools can be fiddly or awkward, but this one felt very straightforward to use. That said, the plates do heat up quickly and get extremely hot, so if you’re new to using wavers or similar styling equipment, I would definitely recommend using the heat-resistant glove, at least for the first few times, to avoid accidentally catching your fingers. Overall, I’m really pleased with this tool. It’s quick, gives salon-style results at home, and has made achieving beachy waves so much simpler for me. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to switch up their look.

GHD Wave Triple Barrel - ‘Beach Waves’

Absolute must have if you want ‘beach waves.’ When I saw how big the waver was, I wasn’t sure how well it would work on my hair (medium - long), but once I’d got used to where I needed to place the barrels, I LOVED the effect & got lots of compliments! The first time I used it, I took quite thick sections and didn’t find the wave as prominent. Since then I’ve taken thinner sections and this gives me my preferred look. I also found doing it this way gave me unexpected volume which is always a bonus, but I did find I needed hairspray to keep the wave in, unlike when I curl my hair with straighteners. It heats up very quickly which is great and means I can style my hair in under 10 minutes, but you do need to be careful when near to forehead / side of face because of the heat. As with all GHD products, for me it’s definitely worth the investment and I’m looking forward to the many different looks I can achieve with this hair tool.

Great results, bit too big

I received this complimentary from GHD in in return for my honest review I have to say whilst it does give soft subtle waves, it's extremely difficult to use, the head is huge. If you have shorter hair you may struggle with this, my hair is down to my back. It heats up really quickly, make sure you have it on a heat proof mat when set down or it'll melt what it's sat on, the overall feel of the styler is really good, it's not mega heavy despite the size and the handle is just the right thickness to be able to grip it without effort. Loved the results but didn't like how difficult it was to actually use, the head size really lets it down

Not for me

First impressions of this item was not great the styler looked so big in the box compared to what I thought it would be.. I was excited at first to try it because I’ve never been able to style my own hair with a styler like this.. the item itself is quite heavy and does heat up very quick but it was far to big for my length of hair so I couldn’t use it properly so was a bit of a let down for me

My new go-to waver!

When opening the box, I felt like the triple barrel waver looked chic and stylish. It was quite heavy but I used it on my daughter who has bum length hair and it made gorgeous beachy waves in no time at all due to the size of the barrels. Also love the integrated stand that actually makes the product stand up! My new go-to waver!

Ideal for medium length hair

I felt quite daunted when opening the box for the first time as it was much larger than I expected, however to my surprise it is very easy to use! I’ve only tried it a couple of times so far but can already tell the more I practice the easier it gets. The triple barrel gives lovely waves and if you’re going for that flowing’beach hair’ look it’s ideal. I’ve always struggled to get curls to stay for any length of time as they always drop out within what feels like minutes, however the triple barrel waves were still visible the following morning after a full night sleep - an absolute first for my hair!! The only ‘negative’ if you could call it that is the barrel is quite heavy when like me you have a lot of hair to curl, however I’m sure that with time I will get used to it. Overall I feel very positive and impressed at how well the curls stay - a winner for me!

Excited!

Initially when opening the box for GHD wave triple barrel hair waver, i was impressed. It wasnt as heavy as another brand which i was excited about. However, i have a lot of hair, which is fine but curly and i havent yet found a curler that can wave my hair. The rubber ends made it quite deceiving, as i assumed it wouldnt get hot, however it was very hot to touch. As for the waves, i held each wave for 20 seconds rather than the 8 as stated on the tutorial. I loved the built in stand on the waver. The verdict: surprisingly pleased! It took me less time than any other waver i have tried and the waves actually look like beach waves!
