Loveshine Candy Glow - Lippenbalm

Beautiful opacity and finish with hydration!

I had previous experience with the candy glaze lipsticks from YSL and enjoyed them very much. I was optimistic about the candy glow tinted butter balm, but I assumed it would be a thinner and less opaque version of the lipsticks. So I felt as though, going in, I had realistic expectations about what I was going to receive. I was very impressed with these sticks because they’re actually a lot more pigmented than you would’ve expected considering they’re branded as a balm. Appearance wise, these are on par with lipstick with regards to the effect on the lips. My lip type is extremely dry, so any lip products with a lot of alcohol in them, aggravate my lips and dry them out even further. This has included a lot of high-end lip brands in the past. I was pleasantly surprised to find these particular butter bombs did not exacerbate my dry lips. I can use these as lipstick in terms of opacity and coverage, but I’m still getting the hydration. I desperately need from a proper lip balm. The shade itself is a lilac shade, which definitely skews cold, but I actually enjoy layering this on top of lipsticks that skew a little too orange on me. The lineup is well rounded enough that there’s a shade for everyone.

Nice shade but doesn’t last

I received this product to test and review. First impression out of the box nice packaging, the color looks very good the only thing though that it doesn’t last very long. Not even a good hour, the shade is beautiful though

Shiny

Five star product!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This perfect tinted lip balm comes in an elegant-looking tube and provides both lightweight moisture and a natural looking pop of color. It looks like a bold shade but is actually super subtle when applied.

Light and subtly sweet

I usually don’t like lipstick because they make my lips feel dry or leave a strange taste in my mouth when wearing but this is light, moisturizing, and has a subtly sweet smell/taste, almost candy-like (hence the name, I guess) . But be warned- you do have to reapply it often. Wearing 8B That Pink. Will definitely be trying other shades.

Luxurious lip balm

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I would say this is like a glorified high-end lip balm. It does a great job at moisturizing lips and also has high-end packaging to make it feel luxurious. It creates a little bit of shine and the slightest amount of lip color. It does not last very long, but does give a youthful shine and hydration to the lips.

Meh

Unfortunately, this lip balm didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The shade Lavender Blaze looked promising in the packaging, but once applied, the color was barely noticeable on my lips—almost like a clear balm. For the price and brand, I expected more pigment and impact. The scent also wasn’t a hit for me. It’s not overpowering, but it’s just not pleasant or memorable in a good way. Overall, it feels like an ordinary balm in luxury packaging. It adds a bit of moisture, but there’s nothing particularly special about it. Disappointing for a product from YSL.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This lip balm is so nice! I don’t really love the scent, but it’s not a deal breaker. It gives such a nice finish and shine, without being too heavy.

Literally slides on like butter

I can’t begin to say how amazing this butter balm smells. I could almost eat it. I usually get dry or cracked lips when I apply balms but this one literally applies like butter and my lips don’t get dried out. It’s mind blowing. I love the casing for it too. This one stays in my purse all the time

Super-moisturizing buttery balm

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Though the color didn’t really come through on my lip tone, I have been using this every day since I got it. At first I didn’t love the fruity scent (reminded me of LipSmackers from when I was a teen) but it grew on me. The best part is how moisturizing this is on your lips. And the moisture stays locked in all day. Would definitely try one of the nude colors.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] The product itself as a lip balm is cute. I was worried about the color at first but overall, I really like the formula and the texture of the product. It keeps my lips glossy and moisturized without being sticky. The color wasn't too much of an issue in the end, I was worried it would be too bright for my skin tone but it goes on pretty sheer. I did notice that the color became more barbie pink after it oxidized but because it's not too pigmented to begin with the color doesn't show up, it kind of gives more of a gloss/glass skin look. The smell is really nice too, a light fruity/floral scent.
